We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Cape Coral .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

I thought the class with John Hardman was very interesting. He is very enthusiastic about photography and is skilled at teaching students how to use their cameras correctly and getting down to basics of photography in a way that is easy to understand. He is very good at this. I would definitely attend further advanced classes if I am able to drive there (it's a 2-hour drive to Cape Coral and I have some physical limitations).

I was fortunate enough to get a one-on-one because of a no-show. John was awesome. As we walked around, I enjoyed his insights and perspective. We took a lot of photos, and there happened to be a street fair, which, for a street photography class, was perfect. He explained some things I did incorrectly when he reviewed my photos at the end of the walk. I would definitely take another class from him.

Chantel was awesome! See is really a great teacher and is really knowledgeable. I was fortunate to be the only one in the group so it was one on one. The best thing she taught me was I need to get out more with my camera to understand more about composition.

Ever since I was a teenager, I have been enamored with Impressionist-style paintings, in particular those by Claude Monet. As an avid lover of nature, I had heard that Sarasota had a beautiful botanical garden and headed out to see what was on display. When I arrived, the first exhibit I came upon was a spectacular koi pond filled with water lilies. It immediately inspired me to take some shots with the intent of capturing the spirit of Monet's famous water lily series. The wind gave the wate

Up at 4:00 AM to catch the first Super Moon of 2026 (aka Wolf Moon) setting over Charlotte Harbor and Gasparilla Island. This photo was taken at 7:18 AM, just before moonset, from Bokeelia at the north end of Pine Island. This location is one of my favorite places in southwest Florida for sunset and moonset photos.

All though this picture is beautiful, it wasn?t a great time. I went for a walk at the House of Refuge after spending the night with my aunt at hospice. I was hoping to see the sunrise but with a tropical storm passing by, it was gloomy and rainy. At the same time it reminded me that even in the stormiest days, there?s beauty and hope. My aunt passed away shortly after and though it hurts, I?m happy she is no longer suffering. And just like the House of Refuge has endured many storms, so will we

Title or Location: Cayo Costa Island
This black and white photograph captures the haunting beauty of the north point of Cayo Costa Island, Florida, eight months after Hurricane Ian. The stark remnants of the storm are evident in the twisted, skeletal trees that line the shoreline, creating a powerful visual narrative of nature's resilience and the impact of extreme weather. The contrast of light and shadow enhances the dramatic landscape, inviting viewers to reflect on the aftermath of the hurricane. This image not only showcases

This image is a Still Life Composition of "Berries, Wine and Grapes" that I created on a rainy day in my bedroom. I used no fancy Studio Lighting at all. My only light source was a hand-held flashlight that I kept moving rapidly. It was an experiment in Light Painting when I couldn't go outside to shoot.
